Author Topic: Dedicated Server Help.  (Read 469 times)

Okay so something really weird is happening with my dedicated server, and it's never happened to me before. So I launch the Dedicated server as uaully, and start a game, and it creates two servers! One that nobody can join, and it's the one i'm in, and another one that people can join, but the bricks aren't loaded, and it's a completely different server. When people join that one while i'm in it, a new server is created with 0 bricks. I'm so confused. Please help me.

I don't quite see what you are getting at but i'll give it my best shot.

When you start a regular non-dedicated server with the selected Add-Ons and all that extra material, it determines what will be on your dedicated server. So what I would do first is start a regular server with the stuff you want. Launch it. Disconnect from it and stop hosting that server. Then, open notepad and paste this code in.

Code: [Select]
start BlocklandLauncher.exe -dedicated -map slate
pause

You then need to save that notepad document as dedicated.bat and change the file type to "Save as all files." Then, place it where you have your BlocklandLauncher.exe saved to. Now double click on that. You will be prompted with 2 CMD windows. One will say press any key to continue and the other will load your server. Click inside the one that says press any key to continue and press well... any key. Your server will be that other CMD prompt and your server will be loaded with your selected Add-ons and music etc. Also be sure to forward your ports if needed.

Tell me how this goes for you.

I'll give it a shot, but i've always just double clicked the dedicated server launcher, and started Blockland, then started a server. It just started happening today.

Duh

you start a dedi server
leave that console running
start Blockland
and JOIN it

Don't start a game, JOIN a game, query lan, connect.

No, Query Internet, join your dedi server.

No, Query Internet, join your dedi server.
forget your stuff it's easier to just connect to the single lan server there

forget your stuff it's easier to just connect to the single lan server there
They are equally the same.
