Author Topic: Code 43-Basically, my graphics card has shut down. Update-Talk to me on monday.  (Read 946 times)

First, read this to understand what's going on.

Okay, situation is that after a while, I've been restarting my comp on and off, by force.
Recently, the graphics driver stopped working.
I've been looking online, and so far, I've found this solution that I'm going to try out tonight.

I even took a look at this article, and I'm seriously contemplating switching over to a different OS.

I'm using this driver sweeper, the original link is gone.

I understand there are some risks involved, but this is really getting annoying.
At this rate, I might have to get a new comp or something.
And the budget back at home is....shaky.

So if there is any advice I can get, or tips, or even something that could confirm there are other problems, then go ahead and post it.

Video card is NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GT

EDIT-Getting late, I need sleep, can't use comp tomorrow, forget it, let's do this.

Baka, did you not realize that graphics cards have lockdown modes on them that prevents them from damage!?

If they get too worked, they switch into a lock mode that will render everything else BUT games..

Thanks, didn't know that.
Anyway, how2unlock?
Actually, I need to clean my loving comp.
I open disk tray, dust comes out.

Seriously guys, I"m about to run that stuff, just uninstalled my drivers and attempting this.
If there is anything you can tell me, please post.

try getting off then on your graphics card

Remove your graphics card and install it again to the motherboard.

Drivers don't suddenly stop working.  Windows doesn't just suddenly stop working with it.

Something is wrong with the card.  See if there is any warranty for it.  When I had a 6800XT, it died on me for some reason unknown along with one of my RAM sticks.  Be wary of any other technical symptoms.

Got this card back in...2010.
So I think the warranty is dead.

Or was it 2009.
Not sure.

Will do.
Might even crack that stuff open when I get the chance.

I think I see where my career is heading.
This stuff is really piquing my interests.

Check anyway.  If its EVGA, I think they have a lifetime warranty.  It'll vary from manufacturer to manufacturer.  The distributor you bought it from certainly won't do stuff about it but companies like EVGA etc. have great warranties.

nevermind, googling.
Ninja.
