Author Topic: Computer's CPU being swallowed up by security program!  (Read 1221 times)

Ignore her then. Don't be scared of your mother.

"MCAFEE IS BETTER THEN FREE STUFF"

Oh and in case you don't get it. Security Essentials is free.

tell her malwarebytes trial's scanning is 19304% better than McAfee as a whole

Tell her that we're god damn experts at computers.  A good portion of this community has been using the computer since the late 90s.  An even greater portion are building their own desktops.

We know what we're talking about when we say "McAfee is a whoring piece of stuff and MSE is just as good", even though most of us don't need antivirus software because we're not morons.

Otherwise, go into the settings and disable any automatic scanning or background scanning.

How much percentage of your CPU is it using anyway?

Anyways, tell her about how many viruses and trojan's that can get through cheap Anti-Viruses and see what happens. If that is what you want, to switch Anti-Viruses. I couldn't really understand OP.

Better idea, install a virus on your moms computer to show her how bad your anti-virus is.

Screenshot an image of the mcaffe program. Delete the shortcut, replace with image of mcaffee. Remove extension and change icon to mcaffee icon, then just uninstall mcaffee and install malwarebytes and your mom is none the wiser.

Actually good idea. Would be best if you could make a program that just opened the image, but not an image editor though.

Thanks guys, I just did all of the stuff you told me to do and my computer can ACTUALLY RUN GAMES NOW!

oh except for this:
