Author Topic: good OS  (Read 3000 times)

I'm merely pointing out that most mac users paid double for the same hardware simply because they wanted a simple to use OS. The large large majority of people buy macs because they wanted the easiest OS possible. That is why people tend to say that mac is for idiots or technologically impaired, because it is true. You 2 can argue that mac is so fast and super duper fancy shmancy but you completely missed my point.

No.

You pay for the design, the stable integration, the build quality, the support. You need to better understand Apple's philosophy.

When you get a Mac you don't have to worry about the power of the hardware, because its pre-picked to work. When you get a PC there are so many variations and it all affects the software performance. That is Windows strong point and big failure.

Windows supporters don't get this.

The best of both worlds is to do what I do and own both. Then you lose out on nothing.

maybe for a gaming computer, thats already not in question for anything mac related. (lol)

but since when did it matter WHAT hardware you used to run adobe or office programs lol. anything new is good enough to run....well anything.
is mac really handpicking the hardware for the..... anything that runs on..... anything?

how impressive lol

No, the software is specifically made to cater to the selected hardware for best performance and stability.

so what i'm getting from this is that macs are for if you just want a goddamn computer and windows is if you actually care about how good it is

Are you purposely being dense? I will try to put this as simple as I can:

most people am buy mac for be easy, no buy for other stuffz

well then that would kill all debate that WINE lovers have left.

the business model of "if we cant do it, then it wasnt supposed to ever be done" is very lazy.

do all apple users believe they are using super powerful machines simply because photoshop, facebook, and excel arent lagging? lol

heres a news flash. them things run perfectly well on a PC as well. all the crashes and driver issues, and software incompatibilities are involved in advanced computer use. i know a mac user wouldnt understand what that means though.

Disagree. Where is the evidence for that?

People are attracted to the Mac for how it looks, or the brand, and the salesman does the rest. That is the reality for most consumers who buy computers.

Anybody who is computer competent will choose based off what they prefer, and what they need. There is a growing balance in people who choose to use the Mac as there are people who go for a Windows based machine. Thats because both operating systems can do what you want them to if you look beyond your doorstep and bother to try.

I'm not sure where you got any of that from but all of it is a fallacy.

forget you, i'm a pc user and a mac user. :(

my point was you claim macOS was designed to run for and only for the hardware apple picks out. and runs perfectly.
i have never seen a prebuild windows comp that dosnt do just this as well. but anyways,

if apple is this awesome to their customers, thats cool i guess.
but then why does every single "advanced" apple user we see online, have to emulate his way around apple's limits?

out of the box apple isnt designed to do half of what you guys want. but working around the issues dosnt earn bragging rights when you could have paid much less for a machine and OS that already was capable.

Money wasn't a consideration for me, I do most of my stuff on a PC laptop nowdays. I've got a MacBook I use for video and graphical editing (to coin a stereotype), an old G3 iMac and Clamshell I tinker with for fun, and a hackintosh I'm building.

Our PC desktop had really stupid hardware with drivers that are non-existent anymore (vendor pulled them) and all my old laptops running Windows failed after a few years. This is why my confidence in that hardware is waning.

Don't PCs and macs get hardware parts from the same companies? Why would hardware failure on PC be more likely than hardware failure on a mac? The only different factor I could see there that would cause a difference would be user error.

well remember, macOS was designed to never have issues with hardware. thats the extra you are paying for. the perfection and simplicity.
and apparently that sleek looking UI thats hundreds of dollars extra important.

unrelated to mac or pc.
i never even look at my desktop. i think i use the launcher bar at bottom a bit. for my 3 main things i open most often.
and then just hotkey open hardware/port access.
