Author Topic: First Blender Model  (Read 1039 times)

I'm not that good with scripting. I really wanted to be one but it just failed in the process. So I tried modeling. I installed Blender which everyone seems to use and I did a little self-model without any tutorials or anything, and here is the result. I call it a 'Black Scythe'. Please give feedback. I thought modeling was never really my type.

It doesnt look like anything

This would g-

Oh wait

What is it?

Alright. I guess i'm out of luck. I knew I wouldn't have a chance anyway. It took me like 10 minutes just to get the stupid model lined up in a cool way with the camera, 3 minutes to make the model. I'm going to experiment with a sci-fi version of this Scythe

we understand it's your first model, but you literally mashed rectangles together and said "hey this maybe kind of looks like a scythe if you tilt your head and squint your eyes" then got mad at us for not being able to see it

>Admits he doesn't think he will be good at modeling
>Posts his very first model ever
>Says he spent a whopping 3 minutes on it

LOGIC!!
WHY HAVE YOU ABANDONED US?!?

wah wah i can't give constructive critiques wah wah

As for the item itself, it does give what you'd expect, kinda, a black scythe, if you're like twisting it in some form. However, don't feel too afraid to get edgier or rounder with your shapes. The tip of the blade looks a bit more flat like a hoe or a pickaxe, from the angle given. Try to give the stem or whatever a shape different than a rectangle, and make it longer (so it doesn't get confused with other tools). The tip of the steel/wood stem thingie that goes through the blade seems to merge with the blade itself. Maybe shorten that part on the blade. In all it's a mash-up that leaves much to be desired for a scythe, maybe toss in extra shapes, whatever makes it look more like a scythe. If you're not willing to put out however I don't think modeling is your thing, taking into account what you said was the time you took to make it.

No I did not. I spent about 7-8 minutes on it. The extra minutes just trying to line it up with the camera at a good angle and scowering around that maze of features to find cool effects to put in it.
