With BL_ID's nearly at 4K how do we define the amateur from the professional?
It's all completely dependant on several factors and in certain situations. Anyone who has ever judged on ID is handicapped. Seeing how it's you who posted this topic though, I'm not surprised.

The best way to define is by seeing their work yourself.
And don't judge all their skills off one piece of work.
Someone could be a pro modeller but a really bad builder.
Someone could be able to build an awesome arena, but can't fight in it in the slightest.
You might see someone's really bad build, but they've made some of the best scripts ever.

And you also have to consider that the work may be sarcastic. Someone may have built poorly on purpose.

Well I'm glad that we don't judge people by BL_ID any more. Which is probably a good thing, as I knew a few people with BL_ID's under 1K who would be quick to tell me a "noob" had joined there server. That "noob" would be a lot better with events and building than them though.
