Author Topic: Venus Transit  (Read 1210 times)

So today venus started going across the sun at 6pm. My father and I got our telescope out with our sun filter, and we saw it. It was breathtaking.
Here's a picture I took:

Venus only goes across the sun every 112(ish) years.

I didn't see it.

Oh well.

venus is trying to eclipse the sun
the little planet who couldn't

I didn't see it.

Oh well.

If you live in certain parts of the world you can see it tomorrow

Wow, If it looks like that on a picture, I bet it looked a hell of a lot better in person

It depends on your region

oh ma gursh. tiny dot on sun. so breathtaking.

that's breathtaking?

well I have a pretty big passion for astronomy, so yeah it was

I heard about this but figured staring at the sun for an extended period of time was not a very good idea. I had nothing to block it out.

well, space is cool and all, but that's probably one of the least impressive things I've seen
maybe the idea of it's neat, or that it happened while you were alive, given the rarity of it, but it's not a very breathtaking sight

Don't have any way to look at it. :c
