The only point at which he should go to a doctor is if he notices anything weird going on with his foot, I would get kind of annoyed if I was a doctor and every mom who had a kid who fell of their bike came into see me for it lol.

Wash it, disinfect it, and keep it covered. That's all you really have to do for small cuts.

Also I keep it clean and all but not covered because of how it is, if I cover it dirt always gets into it making it worse.
