Author Topic: system32 ownership help?  (Read 500 times)

I have an old computer running Windows XP, and read that you can get the old MSPaint working on Windows 7 if you backup the MSPaint.exe from the XP computer, and install it on the Windows 7 Version. Easy enough, I did just that and I was told that I needed permission to edit the file. I used this guide to edit the permissions to me: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc753659.aspx

I tried it one more time, and it said "You need permission from administrators" and im like "what the forget" i even double checked to make sure I was the owner of the system32 folder. Any help?

The version of this file is not compatible with the version of windows you're running. Check your computer's system information to see whether you need an x86 (32-bit) or x64 (64-bit) version of the program, and then contact the software publisher
