why is the same songs on everytime on the radio?

i only hear 3-5 songs, repeating every time.

ok well STORY:

All the time when i'm in a car, radio turns on,
i only hear 3-5 songs, for a 3 hour car ride. very rarely i can hear a different song.

songs include like:

and a couple others that i forget.

anyone else think  this?

because radio stations only have to worry about entertaining a person for about an hour at most.
as the average person dosnt listen very long at any 1 time.

they try to squeeze in the top 40 and thats all they play.

Where I'm at, near Chicago, I have a lot of choice in radio stations.

In my BMW X3 I have preset radio stations that I can just fly through to try and find a good song. A lot of them are Chicago stations, like the Loop and Lite, not really sure what actual thing is
