Does anyone use Tide (torque ide)? Is it recommended?

Notepad++ or just Notepad is usually the best option unless your on mac then idk

If you are on Mac, TextWrangler works really well and is free.

If you're on any OS, Sublime Text 2 is the best option.

I use a combination of TorqueDev and Notepad ++.

TorqueDev has full syntax hilighting, auto-complete, is specifically made for torque, and has a as-you-type syntax error checker.
So if you're on windows, that's the best option.
