Author Topic: My family and I went hiking.  (Read 1203 times)

Some hours ago, me, mom, and dad went hiking on a trail on Mt. Cheaha, the highest point in Alabama. We had lots of fun, got exercise, saw cool tree and rock formations. It was awesome. There were 2 other groups on the trail. There was cool stuff along the trail. It was great. I'll get the pictures up tomorrow.

/discuss hiking and other cool stuff like that.

Did you fight off any coyotes?

"exercise"

not sure what this is, can you explain?

I climbed a 0.7 km high mountain last weekend, saw some cool caves too

I heard its like where you move around and stuff.

I climbed a 20 foot tall hill that had freezing cold water coming down it about a month ago.

Its been to long since I've been hiking.

I used to live right around Santa Barbara, there were some fantastic hiking trails around there.

Among my favorites:
Lizard's Mouth:
Roughly two mile long trail that leads to a striking rock formation that looks like the mouth of a lizard. Lots of rocks for jumping around on and running up scrambly rock walls and such. Very fun.

Rattlesnake Canyon:
More longwinded hike, somewhere between 4 and 6 miles depending on how you do it. Parallels a creek for a while, and there's a picnic-like area at a circle of oak trees

Gaviota Peak:
Long trail, recently victim to some fires. if walking through ash is your thing, go here. At the peak of the trail, there's a formation of caves because of ocean winds. Pretty fun sliding around through those.

Nojoqui Falls:
Quick, easy, and contains a truly beautiful endpoint. The waterfall is in front of a little cave that is home to a ton of bats. BATS

No we didn't kill or fight anything

sweet

sweet pictures, too

I hiked up the tallest peak in Arizona, mount Humphrey's

The majority of alabama is dumb, the only thing worth going there is indeed the hiking and the rocks.
