Author Topic: Placing public bricks?  (Read 2180 times)

Is this possible currently?

build something, save it, reload it as public?

taking out a destructo wand bottomprints a message about serverCmdDPB which apparently toggles your ability to destroy public bricks.

Elaborate.
I tried loading a default save as public, but the bricks still behaved as usual, including dwand in no-public-bricks mode.

Try doing it in the "freebuild" gamemode.

Okay, seems to work now. Not sure about why it'd be specific to the freebuild gamemode though. Freebuild only uses default bricks, right?

Looked through the game mode, but I couldn't find anything that should trigger something like this. Please don't tell me it's in the BL core code, but hard-coded to the freebuild gamemode.

Game modes have a white list of add-ons to enable.  So the problem here is some add-on you are using is overwriting the loading functions.  I have also identified a problem where packages are not being deactivated correctly, so if you start a custom game mode then switch to another game mode, things may get screwed up.

Tried with custom and only default add-ons enabled (removed all add-ons, change gamemode to custom, only add-ons enabled with default enabled, restart dedi completely), public bricks not working. Working with freebuild.

Ok, this appears to be a problem with uploading a save to a dedicated server vs loading one locally.  I have added it to the list.

this is a cool idea
just saying
