Author Topic: Skybox environment map (7th texture)  (Read 376 times)

What does the 7th texture do in a skybox .dml file? The first 6 are the cube faces, the 7th is the environment map, and 8-10 are clouds. What is the environment map used for? Why is it necessary?

I guess this is the new mapping help forum.

I believe it is used for fake "reflectivity," like on water or that wacky shiny surface you see on untextured models.
