My file is an mp4 but I think its supposed to be an ogg, any help on packaging and anything?

Blockland Tutorials
Add-Ons: Music

There are just a few easy steps to making music for Blockland.

1. Download any song that you would like to put on Blockland.
2. Use some kind of software to edit out a lot of parts, leaving only the parts of the song you want to hear on Blockland.
(This is because when people join your server, the load will take too long if it's a whole song.
This is also why it's a forum rule not to release whole songs.)
3. Make sure that the file is .ogg (not .mp4, .zip, .docx, .png, .jpg, .pdf, .pdn, etc.)
4. YOU have the option to release it or use it for your own personnel usage.

I have done this before and put it in my music folder. It didn't show up in my list of music choices even though I enabled the song too.

This should be a little more in-depth. And actually work.

[STEP 1: SONG]
Get a song, any song.   That's not all copyrighted and stuff - don't get all illegal now.

[STEP 2: AUDACITY]
http://audacity.sourceforge.net/

[STEP 3: MONO]
Select both tracks of the song in Audacity by pressing Ctrl-A.
Click on Tracks -> Stereo Track to Mono.
(blockland hates stereo/quad songs)

[STEP 4: EDIT]
If the song is over around 40 seconds try trimming it down. Cut out everything but the part you want to loop.

[STEP 5: EXPORT]
File -> Export
File type: Ogg Vorbis
Location: [blockland]/Add-Ons/Music
