Shipping is short for relationshipping. It's when you decide that two characters love eachother. This can be canon, plausible in canon, or down right weird. For example, a canon shipping is Serra and Ferroz (meaning the creators do it), a plausible shipping is Renly and Loras (because they're of compatible orientations) and a downright weird one is Nyroc and Batman (one's an owl, the other's a man, different universes, both are straight/aloveual (depends on the writer for the Bat)).
