Author Topic: Fixed port-forwarding, fails again after shader update?  (Read 556 times)

Just before the shader update, I was finally able to fix my port-forwarding and host a server, but after the shader update, I am yet again unable to host!

What's wrong with this thing? I opened port 28000, both protocols, which did the trick before the update. About 6 people joined my server, but after the update, it just fails again!

What the forget is going on??

Sounds like your computer or internet's problem.

You should just switch to UPnP, its much more simple, but that sounds allot like a problem with your computer or router, mainly the router.

same thing is happening to me. I'm alternating from Upnp and good old fashioned port forwarding and it seems that only 50% of people can join.

This also happens to me a fair bit.

I usually check to see if that local IP between the ports and the "redirect selected blah" thing match. Although much too often, the little IP in the "redirect selected blah" things changes, rendering all my portforwarding void.

as far as I know any IP starting with 192.168 is a local IP, so that doesn't look right.

as far as I know it allows me (at least) to run servers, as selecting the "Redirect to this router" option does nothing.
