Author Topic: Open Educational Resources - Teach Yourself Something For Free!  (Read 191 times)

So this morning I was bored, it was about 5 in the morning because I could not sleep. So I started to browse YouTube when I seen this video blog that is one year long. This guy (I forget who it was) completed a four year course in one year using nothing but free resources. Interesting.

I instantly wanted to know how he did it. So I spent some time doing some research, and came across OER. I decided to search for lectures on C-Sharp and I'm pretty sure I found what I wanted. There is like 27 videos to watch, all about 50 minutes long or so.

What this is great for is for those who want that head start before they go into college. This will also give you an idea on what to expect if you were to go to college for whatever you're going to learn.

Let's say you wanted to learn to model. But only as a hobby for games such as Blockland. Well, here is a 68-hour course for Blender.

You can also find OER's using Google's advanced search.

Anyway, enjoy!
