i've seen other forums that have a little "like" thing at the bottom of the post saying "x, y, z, and # others liked this"
i dont know what it really accomplishes, but it's there
unless this is like a certain amount of dislikes hides the post, in which case it becomes reddit and everyone sticks their head in the sand and dislikes everything they don't agree with and you have to pander to the popular opinion to not get downvoted
