how do i make weapons the right size, like the handle cause then i can just work off of the handle?

trial and error I am afraid.

just make your handle first, export and see how it turns out. Could be tiny, could be huge.

Then scale it as needed.

Same as what RW just said except that you need to be in the smallest grid size. About 2-3 of those tiny squares is the size of a Blocko's hand.
