Our power went out almost 2 hours ago because of the hurricane, and our power company says, "We're hoping to start working on the problem Tuesday night. We might have everyone's electricity back in about a week." Seriously Delmarva Power? Are you that lazy? I know there is a hurricane and such, but c'mon, within 2 days the hurricane will be gone. I won't survive a week only using my iPhone. ;-;

Once an ice storm took and knocked out power for a month, nothing except candles and woodstoves. You'll be fine OP, I survived a month in a trailer eating canned foods and occasionally KFC if my grandpa was able to get to us. No showers at all either :c

And they aren't being lazy, towns have more power lines than you think. They have to fix poles and everything to get it all up and going, I remember seeing a completely downed line still laying after the ice storm ended and a hurricane is a hell alot worse than an ice storm so I could only imagine the hell it'll put the power lines through.
Be happy you have that iPhone, I didn't even have a flashlight when I had to take a stuff.
