Author Topic: Frameless Default Doors  (Read 1488 times)

I'm almost done with making the default doors frameless. Everything works as expected except for one thing. The undulo shape fx looks really bad with my version of the doors. The good news? My doors have less than half the amount of faces than the same door's default version.

You can only have one:
Prettier undulo (currently kind of unusable, it looks like stuff)
Significantly less faces (slightly better performance, ~2 of my doors = 1 same default door)

I wish I knew what kind of performance hit 100 quads do so I could judge better. I know BLBs are optimized, but to what extent?

You know, an example of how undulo fx looks on your doors currently would be nice.
Sounds like a good idea though, frameless doors.

Wonder why they made the door with frames anyhow...

Some people might get teen angst if they can't undulo their doors.

Well it can be used for special effects, like some weird haunted hallway or something.

Ah okay, that looks very odd indeed.
In this case i would rather like to have the undulo effect looking a bit more normal than having to see that when i undulo the door.

Lazy modeling + undulo. I released the doors with as few faces as I could. If too many complaints about undulo start rolling in I'll redo them.
