He didn't write Shawshank, he wrote the book the film is based on, but not the film itself.

I like Steven King's writing a lot, although my favorite movie of his has to be The Shining. I met him by chance in a grocery store in Maine once, he was really nice.

Stephen King is sort of douchey. His name is the biggest thing on his books, bigger than the actual title.
