Can't open steam

So today, I tried opening steam, and it did not open. I tried troubleshooting the problems but it did not work. I want to open it. But I cant. Please help.

look in task manager for steam.exe or whatever it is. if it's there, end the process and try starting it again.

I would try starting it again and again, if you can't manage to start it, delete everything in your steam folder EXCEPT the folder Steamapps and Steam.exe, and let it redownload the rest. If you've got a skin installed, don't delete the Skins folder in the steam folder.
