Not really. I got 60 fps at 8x CSAA in a multiplayer game with 10 people.

I tried changing the setting once, and it showed a loving XBOX controller!

well seeing as any gpu past 1994 is dedicated and separate from the motherboard i'm guessing the mobo would be fine

plus i have a few friends who play bf3 max settings at 200+ fps, just because your ati rage 128 won't run it doesn't mean a better GPU can't
but the 550M shouldn't be able to run bf3 at 200+ fps alone, even with overclocking
at single gtx 670 can run it ultra at just over 60

Might be the game's incompatibility with your Geforce 550M.  Then again I see people playing it just fine on youtube...

Dell XPS 17 laptop. Specs include an Intel Core i7-2630 QM processor, 6GB of DDR3 RAM, 640GB of hard drive space spinning at 7200rpm, an Nvidia GeForce GT550M graphics card with 1GB of graphical memory and Optimus Technology, and a 3D capable Blu-ray reader.
