Author Topic: Wrestling session is here!  (Read 1424 times)

i kind of wanted to do wrestling (was suggested by some of my friends who do it), but i decided not to. im kind of glad i didnt because seeing all this weight watching and stuff that wrestlers fuss over just seems silly. one kid was like 1 pound too heavy to he didnt eat anything all day, wore a stuffload of clothes in our weight lifting class so he would sweat a stuffload, then ran all lunch.

wrestling seems like a sport you have to take really seriously, i would do it if it was something i would want to continue with in my life, but just for 3 seasons in highschool for fun, not really my thing.
Its as big as a commitment as football.
Im lucky thought, I weight around 136lbs every day and the weight class is 138 so I didnt really have to lose weight.

You only really need to lose weight if you are on the verge of a weight class or you just want to get down to a lower weight

Because my school is division two it's:

MSL League -> D1 -> Central Ohio -> States -> Nationals
I'd like to at least place 4th in Western Massachusetts so I can go to states.

I shadow wrestling as a sports medic, and it's an awesome sport to watch.

idk maybe next year just for fun. doubt ill be good at it though, im strong but pretty tall (6'2). most wrestlers (at least here) are all pretty short, and since i weigh 150+ that would probs put me at a huge disadvantage.

I know a senior who did it for his first year his senior year. He really liked it.
The biggest things are endurance and technique

I pretty strong for my weight and have pretty good technique but I always get really tired really fast.
The major change I made this year was my wrestling stance which has helped me a lot!

Bump.

I live wrestled both of the 132 guys (The weight Im trying to make) and I beat them both.
