Author Topic: Should I be a Youtube Partner?  (Read 3062 times)

Does anyone here knows if some of my videos will be deleted because of music copyright stuff? I just need to know that
I have done Monetizing once (not partnership) and I don't think previous videos will be deleted. The way monetizing worked was only the videos you would select to monetize which meant to make money off of views would be checked for music and other copyrights, you would need to select what type of video it is and write a paragraph about the video. I believe you can have a song in the video but it can't be longer than 30 seconds, or if you made the song yourself then you can include it.

One way I used to trick youtube was by downloading a song and naming everything such as the Artist, Album and name to "Royalty Free". However this was for videos that werent monetized and you can't have any MUSIC unless its a made by the game makers or if you made it yourself. I think partnership works the same way.

If you become a Youtube partner and you earn money where do you get the money? Do you need some kind of PayPal account or something? I'm considering becoming a partner soon
The way monetizing worked was you would open up a Google AdSesne account and money would get stored in that account. Then once your "bank" reached over $100 you will be sent a check in the mail at the end of the month. Partnering may be different.

Ah cool... I should try that

don't be pewdiepie please

dont

DONT QUIT YOUR JOB AND USE YOUTUBE AS A LIVING!!
DONT GET SUCKED INTO IT!
dude
that's like

the best job, ever

all you have to do is play video games
you won't have a boss, stuffty co-workers, etc.
but you probably don't get paid that much.

Don't you get paid for becoming a youtube partner?
The only down side i know of is having adverts on your videos.
adblock

If you never want to utter another brand name on camera ever again, sure.

Added poll, still worried about if a few of my videos will be deleted

Do it if you feel it's a good idea.
I don't really care if you do.

if you dont care dont post

I don't think they will be deleted, unless the videos have "matched third-party content"

Wait, I have a few videos with copyrighted music but they never got muted, just the name of the music appears on the side, does those videos will be deleted or something with partnership?

If they will be deleted then I won't doing partnership

Everybody gets these messages all the time. The truth is that there are very specific requirements to actually getting a partnership, and 99.99999999% of people don't get it.

This is my understanding of partnership, if you apply to be a partner then they may monetize all your videos. So if you have any videos with copyrighted material at all, they will probably reject you. FreddieW was rejected a couple times because of his guitar hero video I believe. Nothing will be forcibly removed, but you won't get to be a partner, and if a company sees that their material is in your video then they may either leave it to help advertise themselves, or they could order youtube to take it down.
The only real pluses to being a partner I think is that you get money, (and if you have a sort of small audience, it probably isn't worth it,) you get to choose video thumbnails, and you get a few more small graphical tools for your youtube channel. Other than that, not much. I don't think it's really worth it. Since I'm using BL my videos will never have that many views, and being unable to use copyrighted material will make video making much more difficult.

Do it if you feel it's a good idea.
I don't really care if you do.
