To get sinks to work you need a counter that is wider than 2 bricks. At-least 3 wide would work, but I recommend 4.

I don't think a sink can be made in a 2x? space at all. You'd need at-least one brick for the faucet, one for the sink drain, and another for the sink edge.
Is there another technique that I'm not aware of?
