Author Topic: Mayan Calender Question  (Read 693 times)

No, but, as a legitiment concern, until 11:59 of tonight of 12/21/12, it will not be offically over, what's all this bullstuff about it not ending at 12:00 on the 20th? The 21st just started.

WE HAVE A THREAD FOR THIS.

11:59

what makes you think its at midnight? the mayan calendar has nothing to do with "days"
they used cosmic measurements.

the real "end of world" is in exactly 2 hours and 10 minutes from right now.

Why 2 hours and 10 minutes?

Stop.

Why 2 hours and 10 minutes?

because that is when the mayan calendar runs out!

why on earth would you think an ancient calendar is based on our modern one from thousands of years later? that dosnt even make sense.
all 8 of the mayan calendars are based on galactic and solar movements. not days and nights and seasons...

So, it's suppost to end in 2 hours and ten minutes?

1 hour and 58 minutes?

Why is everyone hyping this damn 2012 thing like its the end of the world?

Oh...

...Wait

It's not the Mayan calendar running out. It's the end of ONE long count calendar, to being another. The Mayan long count calendar is advancing from the 13th Bak'tun to the 14th. Look at it as a start of a new era - sort of.

The mayans themselves even stated that a new calender is going to start and that they have no idea how someone managed to think the world was going to end from it.

Apparently the end of the 13th baktun for the Mayan calendar was a few months ago. Our Gregorian calender is a completely different thing.
