Author Topic: Random book review thing.  (Read 1813 times)

So I got "Diary of a Wimpy kid: The Third Wheel" for Christmas and just finished reading it.

The story basically follows Greg Heffley ("The Wimpy Kid") who is still trying to put up with his annoying ass family and hanging out with his butt buddy friend Rowley Jefferson.
After that, "Uncle Gary" (A 30 something year old douche bag who has married 4 women in what I think is probably about four years and takes money from Greg's Dad without paying him back) turns up at the front door and, basically saying his T-Shirt business has failed, comes to stay with the Heffleys.
Then some stuff happens and a school dance is organised which means Greg is out to get some pussay.

Ok time for pros and cons

Pros
  • Still entertaining like the previous books (That's impressive seeing as there's been 7 books now (Not including "Do-it-yourself" or "The movie diary"))
  • Still captures the style of writing of a pre-pubescent whiny ass awkward with the ladies teenager that you like for some reason.
  • Easy to read with drawings by the author, Jeff Kinney.

Cons
  • There wasn't as much going on with the other characters than in the previous books, so I got slightly bored with reading about Greg.
  • It all seems a but familiar; but hey, better safe than sorry!
  • Way too short, which is also a problem with the other books. I probably finished it in about an hour.

Verdict
Very enjoyable but short; like masturbating or Portal
7/10
