Author Topic: Someone broke into our house...or so we thought.  (Read 625 times)

Ok, funny story time.

A few days ago, when my family was at my grandmother's house, (on mom's side) in Mobile, staying for a week, our neighbor called my dad. She said she thought someone broke into our house (in Oxford). Our neighbor said that the garage door was open, size big enough for a big dog or a human, and she could see a huge mess through the gap. Our other neighbor and good friend Rich, called later and said he'd crawl under the gap and investigate. He said he saw a huge mess, smashed cans everywhere, dog stuff and pee, tools knocked over, and part of the dry wall destroyed. Dad told Rich to go inside the house (the doors were open), and Rich did so. He said everything was normal. Rich went back outside and figured it out.
A dog somehow got inside our garage, and got locked in. Rich instanly knew which dog it was, a stray dog around the neighborhood who we call Tiger, because he looks a little like a small tiger. It explained the dog droppings. Apparently Tiger destroyed part of the dry wall trying to get out, and then soon enough got out, after wrecking the garage trying to get out. He also climbed on my dad's truck.
After we got home, we talked with another neighbor, who's name I don't know, and he said he'd call someone named Tony to fix the smashed dry wall. Rich, the neighbor who called first, and the just mentioned other neighbor, my parents, and me, all pitched in to fix the garage.

garage door was closed, and front door was locked, but the doors in the garage were open

A couple of weeks ago a squirrel obliterated our living room after my father opened a window to run a phone line from our office to his bedroom.

And that's why people lock their doors.

garage door was closed, and front door was locked, but the doors in the garage were open
garage doors have locks too.
use them.
