Author Topic: I want to host a medieval fantasy roleplay and I want your ideas and opinions.  (Read 634 times)

Pretty much that. There's a lack of good roleplay servers, and I like building medieval things.

I'd like to get your ideas and opinions before I start on it, that way I can make a server that everyone'll enjoy.

A medieval town that was hit by a strange object from outer space and the inhabitants are now repairing their houses and wondering what the forget it is.

There's going to be two towns in the map, so this could be something I could do.

Sounds like an interesting plot device, tho.

A medieval town that was hit by a strange object from outer space and the inhabitants are now repairing their houses and wondering what the forget it is.
And then miasma happened and Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles RP happened =D

(Background info: In the game discussed above, a meteor landed that had a monster that created this poison that covered the earth called miasma. Each town has a giant crystal that repels said poison, allowing people to still live. The giant crystals need power, however. So groups of warriors go out to find myrr trees and get 3 drops of myrr a year to power the crystal.)

Roadside Picnic but medieval.
That'd be something.

Enchanted forest, dark and swampy like, zombies come out of it during the night, villagers all hide in houses, players job is to defend the village, whether with bow and arrow or melee, or cannons if someone can afford to purchase an upgrade. Have there be like a server store where people can buy upgrades, like a small wall, bigger wall, parapets, health potions, cannons, lookout towers, ditches, etc.

or the other posts, those are nice too.

Limit magic.  If you can't completely limit it, try to do so as best as you can.  There were far too many magic-oriented instances when I hosted my medieval RP--the plot(s) started depending on it and revolving around it without end, everybody's characters were better than everybody else's, etc.  Everything became too dull and repetitive.

I thought you were going to make that think I was helping to make, Ike.

:C

Ahhhh.

You've had a lot of these threads Ike.

if you wanna build some medieval/fantasy stuff, i would love if you helped me work on something.

if you're into hosting your own thing, try a broad idea. don't try to force people into roles like "you MUST be one kingdom or the other" or "you MUST be a knight of blockstead"

I definitely agree with keeping the rp as broad as possible, providing players with a multitude of paths to take. Try making two opposing forces that people can side with (or remain neutral), and expand from there.
You could help me with my fantasy rp too ;)
