Author Topic: Headphones nearly broken, Wat do?  (Read 522 times)

So a few minutes ago, I was watching a video, and i had a REALLY hard time figuring out about the volume. Apparently i had to hold the headphone cable really strongly to make it work. The microphone is also broken, what pisses me off.
Now I think the cable has broken inside, or has caught in a squeeze between my chair because the cable is so long.
My current headphones: Creative Fatal1ty

So I've been wondering, could there be some kind of headphones what:

-Doesn't break / Last long
-Good quality microphone
-Wireless (Because overlength causes problems getting stuck between my office chair could cause some serious issues)
-Soft / Nice to wear (They don't hurt after a period of wearing (Some headphones do this) ).
-Doesn't cost too much (I think a good limit would be 60€ (Euro, not dollars.)

If there is some headphones like this (And you would tell the name, or a pic, or a link, please tell me. I'm interested.

Should i get new headphones or stick to my old ones? If you reccomend new ones, please gimme a pic or a link atleast.

Cheap, high quality, wireless and with a mic? Sorry, those words don't belong in the same sentence. The only thing I can think of is the Corsair Vengeance 2000 or the Astro A40. Both of which are outside of your price range.

If you don't limit yourself to wireless, you can get cheaper headsets with higher sound quality. You should really consider that.
Oh and while you're at it, why not consider a clip on mic, a desktop mic or the lovey ModMic and get yourself a good headphone?

Hmmm...

Well, do you know any good (cheapish) NON-wireless headphones which last longer than mine?

Oh well, I have a inside built mic already in my laptop (that will change when getting a desktop computer so...)

Last longer than what? Most headsets should last a while if you treat them nicely :P
How about:
Corsair V 1500 - Build quality seems sturdy, and they get good reviews.
Siberia Steelseries V2 - Should also be okay.
Plantronics GameCom 780 - Looks cool :P
Logitech G35 - Good reviews, looks sturdy.
Sennheiser PC330 (or any of its brothers) - Cause Sennheiser makes good audio. Would probably be the best headset for music of the bunch.

I haven't tested any of these, just throwing out stuff I've been looking at myself. You do of course have to read reviews and decide how much money you're willing to spend. And there are probably cheaper stores than Amazon.de, depending on which country you live in.

Thank you, I really appreciate that you sent me some examples.

Now, I've heard about my friend who uses Sennheiser's and they are good, atleast he says so. Should I consider Sennheiser's?

Sennheiser are known for making very good headphones. If you listen to music as well, you should probably consider them. The are some more expensive versions as well (340, 350 and 360), which probably are even better. You should read a couple of reviews though, as some people complain about that the headset is only suitable for people with small-ish heads.

Oh. And if you live near a physical store that sells any of these headsets, why don't you go there and ask for a listen? That way you'll see if you like the sound and the comfort. You should ask your friend if you could try his Senn's, too.
