Doesn't quite belong in here.
The first things you can do are learn how to model and code.
...Have fun.
For modeling, try messing around with Milkshape or Blender.
For coding, try learning some other, easier coding language (I dunno?) or rooting through some of BL's files.
Or just try one and get someone to do the other half.
Good luck if you're gonna try modding!

Mapping is the easiest, just open Mission Editor and mess about with all the tools on the menus, you can work it out very quickly.

Coding and modeling are complex and your ability to do them differs from person to person.
For coding, all you need is notepad, but you need to understand torque script.
Google a tutorial on it.
