There was literally a thread about the very same topic 2 days ago. Use the search button.
Anyways, I'll repeat what I tell everyone who asks this:
1) Stay away from gaming headsets. They are overhyped pieces of junk.
2) Get a headphone + a mic. You'll get much more band for your buck.
For example:
Cheap microphone ($2.31) +
Takstar HI2050 ($49.76) Basically my setup. The sound in those headphones is amazing for the prize. We're talking premium audiophile quality sound here. The mic isn't phenomenal, but the sound quality is very okay for the price. Voices are clear and easy to understand, but there is a tiny bit of background noise. Still, the quality is more than good enough for Skype / Teamspeak. I just wouldn't record my next album with it. The sound quality from your $60 gaming headset is not going to be any better. I can send you a recording for audio quality, if you want.
Or:
Antlion ModMic ($35) +
Beyerdynamic DT770 Pro 250 Ohm ($180) This combo will beat the living crap out of every gaming headset out there. Yes, the microphone is expensive. And yes, the headphone is also expensive. But this was just a suggestion for a high-end set, to show you what can be done.
