It being in a single GK110 GPU instead of 2 older less powerful GPUs (GTX 690) means it is cheaper to manufacture since its even a smaller card.

I still expect the price to go no lower than $699.

Because you can put them in quad sli and have ultimate power.

you could do that with any card. even the already dual cores to make em 6core.

Save energy and produce less heat. That's why they released the 690, to basically put two 680's together and use less energy and be cooler.

Theoretically, it could support 16 monitors. Though I have yet to see anything with a 16-monitor setup.
