It looks pretty bad.

Thanks for you helpful information.

abit too detailed. sticking with eight or six sided cylinders is a good start to make the weapon more blocky though. otherwise it look pretty cool ^_^
(if you need someone to script and animate the weapon, I'm decently good at doing so. <) )

Yeah ugh, Blocky can be a pain the butt. I've gotten so use to modeling things that are more realistic.

This isn't realistic. Realistic does not mean 32 sided cylinders and strange smooth 45 degree bevels.

looks a lot like the very old glock add-on
(the grey one that used to be on rtb)

it doesn't look realistic, detailed or remotely blocko

 it just looks nasty

you guys are richards
just because its not BLOCKO doesnt mean its bad. infact i MISS the days when weapons were this quality; those were the loving SIMPLE days.

its not perfect, but its not the best, either.
make instead of smoothing it out however, make the edges more ...edges.

"just because it's blocko doesn't mean it's bad, but make it more blocko anyways"

and beyond that yeah it totally does mean that it's bad

he's explicitly going for a specific artstyle- the unified artstyle that the REST OF THE GAME employs- and you're just like "ehh whatever he tried his best"

forget you

if he tried his best, he can try his best again and again until he gets it right. then you praise him, and then he continues to pump out quality and then we'll have a modding community instead of just people who drop one-shots and disappear into the night

see what bugs me is that he's trying to make it proportional to real life but blockland's schtick is that everything is fat and cartoony and safe for little kids to play with and easy to mould and manufacture in, like, a factory. you know, like real legos. but with less curves.

first thing he'd have to do is make it fatter, simplify the geometry a little bit.

... actually include color, maybe.

i dunno on some level

"man you guys are being starfishs by telling him how to improve, why can't you be nice like me and just say nothing"

OP even said he wants to keep working at it, and we're just giving him advice on how to do that

all i'd say is make the whole thing wider.

Don't mean to be a "cigarette" here, but I never stated that it's realistic. Learn to read kids. I don't care if you bash this weapon, I tried my best to make this look as "blocko" as possible... Instead of saying "looks like stuff". Please be helpful.

I've made some other nice weapons

I tried my best, and I'll keep trying. If you can do better than me, then release your stuff.

If you want to keep bashing me, go ahead... But thanks some of you people who were nice.

I'm not a BAD modder, in fact I'm better than the average guy imo. And extrude, no offense. You've always been a handicap in my opinion.

I wasn't trying to be rude at all, I'm just speaking my mind.

Learn to read, never said it was realistic.

but he's still a better modder than you

I consider myself an 'average guy' when it comes to modding and I have a slight feeling that you're not better than I

Now, I'll be helpful:
1. Try to stick with hexagons and octogons
2. Be careful with what you bevel-- you could just end up making the model look worse and increase the poly count
3. A color scheme of only 2 colors is typically a bad idea
4. This is kind of my opinion, but replacing holes or gaps, such as the barrel, with black is a good idea because it decreases poly count and overall makes it look more 'blocko'
5. Fat is good, anorexic is bad

but he's still a better modder than you

I know Extrude is better than me, and so are you... I've only been modding for about 9 months. Well, really 5. I took a long long break. (This isn't an excuse, just saying, I'm getting better.)...

Your definitely above average, there are quite a few people in this community that are good at modeling and you're one of them lol.

Bushido
NEKram
You
Extrude (even though I dislike him, I will admit, he's pretty good.)
Filipe
Barnabas
few more that can't come to mind.

But I gotta say, this is the worse out of all the guns I've made so far... I'm not playing BL as much as I would like to, and I'm not really modeling BL stuff anymore. I might do some stuff here and there.

Also, not going to lock this. I'd just like to let this die down... If people decide to post, they can.
