Author Topic: How to fix Blockland when crashing while loading the game/loading datablocks.  (Read 5225 times)

This is a common error that happens to a lot of people.

This tutorial will help you fix Blockland when it has been crashing. PLEASE NOTE: These instructions only solve the following problems:
  • Immediate crash upon loading Blockland (Error message will pop up saying something about SQLite)
  • Crash at loading datablocks when you start or join a server

To fix these crashes, you will have to delete a file in your Blockland folder called a cache.db.

Step #1 - Locate your Blockland folder.

Step #2 - Find the cache.db file.

Step #3 - Right-click the file and press Delete.

The list below will be similar to what shows up on your computer. It's OK if an option doesn't show up.

The file should not be in the Blockland folder anymore. If it is, try again.

Step #4 - Start up Blockland. It should be downloading 900-1100 files now.

NOTE: This picture probably won't show the same number of files being downloaded as your own game.

Step #5 - Test the game to see if it works. Quit out of the game and rejoin. If it doesn't crash, then you're all set! If it was crashing while loading datablocks, then join a server.

If the game is working, congratulations! Blockland is fixed!

If it didn't work, try these steps again. If Blockland refuses to work, then it could be a different problem you are having. Try making a help topic if all else fails.

Nonononono, don't delete cache.db.
That means you have to download all those thousands of files you loaded from servers again.

First, move the file out of the folder.
If it works then, you can be sure your cache.db is corrupted and you have to delete it anyways.
If it still doesn't work, cache.db is not the problem and you can move it back in the folder and keep your files.

Well, when Blockland crashes immediately, if it's the cache.db, the error message will say SQLite error. You would have to delete the cache then.

Also you can disable downloads in options. But I see what you are saying.

Bump again, I was hoping for a better response. :\
