Because it accepted immigrants freely during the start, the United state's culture is the absorption of all the other cultures that it has grown to host, they've all sort of melded together in one big happy poop. That, in of itself is it's culture.

I'm going to go out on a whim and suggest it was the Baths at the City of Bath. :3
And if you did go there, I am incredibly jealous. I so want to visit them.
Luckily my mother has decided that she'll take me there as part of her birthday trip.
I'm hooked on Roman architecture after visiting Rome.
It would also mean that you came reasonably (sort of) close to me, having travelled within a county from me.

It'd be nice if you were to visit again sometime. There's so much to see all over the country that you'd never get to see it all.

London can be quite grim and dreary in places.
I'd happily visit and do the touristy things for a day or two, but I don't think I could holiday in London, which some people I know do.
Mind you, I'm really rural, so a lot of the people that I know who would do it have never even been to a city before, so I suppose it's quite a different world for them.
I'm probably just slightly more acclimatised since I come from a city.

But oh well. If you ever return to England you should do some sight-seeing around London or some other cities. If you get in during a nice Summer it can be rather pleasant.
Oxford is quite nice if you're into history.
