made a house and forgot the door, then since the tutorial was broken for me tried to use the hammer on the middle of the wall, and when it didn't work i just deleted the whole thing (it was just a box anyways so not much was lost)
before that, i didn't know how to plant bricks, also due to the nonfunctioning tutorial so i asked how and everyone mostly told me to just play the tutorial
actually a lot of my problems when i was new stemmed from the tutorial not working - it loaded up fine but the centerprint telling you how to do the specific steps (press wasd to walk and so on) didn't appear so all i knew came from looking at the top of the controls list

Another thing I did was, I couldn't get passed the jeep obstacle course (in the tutorial), and I had a spear from the part where you wrench your 1st brick to give it a light, so I just used it to blow the door open.

but i never played multiplayer, just drove cars around the map and avoided the community as much as i can because it scared the stuff out of me when i was 9.
