Author Topic: Microphone static/buzzing noise  (Read 820 times)

So, few days ago I tried to record some gameplay, but my microphone is acting a bit strange...
When I go to audio recording devices, I can see "FrontMic" being the only device plugged in, instead of normal microphone (the mic is in my headphones.) like it usualy is. When I try to listen to the mic, I can only hear this annoying static/buzzing noise from it. This happens when I connect it to my front jack. When It's in the rear jack, the computer regonizes it as "Microphone" instead of "FrontMic". No buzzing noise this time...Actualy...No noises at all! Also I noticed, that if I push the front jack a bit, I can hear my own speech, but when I let go, the buzzing noise comes back. Any ideas on how I could fix this?

I suggest going into your sound settings and seeing if the microphone is turned on up to full volume.

is the cable fully isolated?

Yes, if you don't count the two other cables going into the headset.

It was, but turning it down didn't help.

Is the input form your case to the motherboard secured?

He probably spit in it or something, idk.
When my sister got her first headset with a mic she was drinking a cup of water with her mic infront of her mouth
and she short circuited the mic. She didn't bother telling anyone for about a month because she didn't want to get in trouble.

OT: I think the microphone might be broken.

Could be, because when I plugged in another microphone, it worked just fine.
