Get some basic electronics kit or something, then move on to Ardunio when you're more experienced.

my favorite thing to do is take things like computers and radios 100% apart and put them back together. (ive only ever broke one computer doing that. be carefull any ways)
or buy a car or boat model and build one of those. i recently made the Titanic and the Wright Flyer
