how can people stand linux anymore?

i mean, my pc can dual-boot into windows 8, and linux ubuntu, but i only downloaded ubuntu to see what it was like

yeah it's pretty cool, less overheating than i get when playing games on windows 8, but srsly how can you guys stand linux not supporting that many software or games? no visual studio, unity, whatever.

honestly, if linux supported more things, then i would so keep it.
Anymore? Linux is at its best. You don't like the choice of over 9 desktop environments to choose from? You don't like being able to customize your desktop IN ANY way you want it, hell if you're smart enough you can even change the OS itself. Linux has Desura and Steam, we have Courer Strike 1.6, Source, Half Life and then Portal 1, Left 4 Dead 2 in beta (which run amazing, L4D2 on linux loads faster than on windows). Those are just the pretty best/popular ones, we have Wargame, Surgeon Simulator the list goes on. Valve is putting Linux on their new steam box console also, which will probably increase the amount of games.

As for visual studio, there are alternatives such as Qt Creator (cross platform).

And as for Unity, Unity has been officially ported to Linux, we still need windows to edit/create games but we can play them. Oh and also, Unreal Engine 4 is coming to Linux.

And for stuffty iTunes, you have Banshee Media Player and Rhythmbox which not only plays your music but has support for iPhone, iPods, iPads etc and not as annoying to work with like in iTunes

This has sort of gone off topic, I've contributed to it but whatever. The topic should just locked eventually, not many people run linux to host BL servers (I don't see why they for, uses a lot less memory).

So WINE is a program that lets you run Windows programs on another OS right?

yes, although not everything works
