Author Topic: How do I install Arch Linux? ;-;  (Read 672 times)

Yes, I am installing another linux distro or whatever, and I want to just use it for a while. I installed the torrent from here, and since I don't have a CD or USB, I just mounted it with Windows 8 or whatever.

I can't seem to run it or any installer inside it. What should i do? ;-;

If you can't figure out how to boot from the disc image using a CD, DVD, or USB stick then i highly advise you switch to something easier like Ubuntu or Mint.

Or use it in a virtual machine if you still want to try.

Um, did you read the OP? I would totally try that, but I don't have a CD or a USB. I used my last writable CD as a system restore disc in case I ever forgeted anything up.

buy a cd

Yeah you can get a pack of 25 for around 5 dollars at walmart

Do you have multiple computers available? If so, and your motherboard supports it, use Netboot.

Arch is a pretty complicated setup for beginners. Read through this before you do anything so you have an idea on what you're going to have to do. Even though you don't have a CD or USB to use I highly recommend just trying it out in VirtualBox so you can practice getting the procedure to setup correct. There's also a YouTube video that can help walk you through the procedure of setting up.
