Author Topic: In first person, sound effects are ear-rape.  (Read 1213 times)

Whenever I'm in first person, when ever I make a sound from a weapon or use an emote, the sound is much louder and high-pitched.
But in third-person, it all sounds fine.
I used to have windows xp and I didn't have this problem, but now I have windows 7 and it keeps happening.
What's going on?

this is one of the mysteries of why the hell we dont go to a newer torque version

it's the screams of torque game engine

the demons trapped within

I always assumed it was louder because your view point was closer

I always assumed it was louder because your view point was closer
It is, but the engine really needs a cap on sound amplification so when you're close to the source it doesn't sound like a bomb going off.

I generally don't have my sounds loud enough to explode my ears.

Mess around with the volume until you find a comfortable level

It's because how sound works in Torque. When something plays a sound it is played to the players with the volume depending on the distance of their camera. So a weapon plays a sound, and the eyes are closer than the 3rd person camera is, so the eyes level is a lot louder than the third person.
