I've tested some stuff before and even with Shadows it seems that Blockland is more CPU intensive. I upgraded from a GTX 550 TI (1GB memory) to an AMD Radeon 7570 (3Gb memory) and I still lag on the same maps/saves that I did with the GTX 550Ti. I could be completely wrong which I think I am but from my tests I've done it seems that it's CPU intensive.
no stuff blockland is cpu intensive
your test sucks for two reasons: failure to use scientific process and get actual fps readings, and the fact that you
asked the wrong questionthe question was if shaders are more gpu intensive than cpu intensive
(they are, btw, but some of you handicaps can't accept that)
you asked whether blockland was "cpu intensive" with and without shaders
guess what, it is!
your test sucks and you should feel bad
do it again and take real readingshere's how you do it:
reboot your computer, run blockland with one of the gpus, then take readings of fps at all the ranges of shaders
then, replace the gpu with the other and do the same thing
voila, you now have a direct comparison of two gpus.
if there is a difference between the two (and nothing else changed) then it is gpu intensive
(it is!)if there is little to no difference between the two, it is cpu intensive.
E: now i see this bit
I could be completely wrong which I think I am
so yeah do it again and take notes and win internet points
