Author Topic: My car radio is acting up, well. It has been.  (Read 1139 times)

What better place to ask for mechanical problems than the Blockland forums.
I bought this car around this time maybe last year, and the speakers have never really been good in it. I had them replaced along with the amps Id' say four months ago, maybe five. I'll have it turned at max volume and nothing will be heard but fuzzes and stuff, and some days like today a song can actually be heard, but even at max volume it's not pleasantly audible, and you hear the frequencies and pops. Any idea on what might be the matter? Thanks.

stuff man, maybe the wires aren't hooked up properly? Did you install the speakers yourself?

No, I had a guy at radio shack install them, he's been doing that for a long time but, it doesn't seem to be that way, lol.

Take it back to him and complain

Your car has a nice interior 10/10

did you blow out the speakers?  my friend blew out his right door speaker and it had the same issues, but blowing out every speaker sounds a bit ridiculous.

I would more-so look at your radio than the speakers at fault, seeing as every speaker has the same issue.  Try pulling the radio out and checking the connections, if they're good, you might need to invest in a new radio.

My dad didn't want to spend a lot of money to get brand new speakers, so he bought used ones, which were possibly blown out, but even if, with the original speakers it did the same kind of thing. I'll see if it's the radio, but it's a special kind of radio, they were really only used in Cadillacs and in those specific years, so. Thanks for the input, I'll check it out.

Like I said, it's hard to think the speakers are blown because there's not a single speaker behaving correctly.

Cadillac has a pretty large aftermarket business, finding a radio won't be hard, the price on the other hand is more worrysome.
