Author Topic: Tomorrow I am donating x.x  (Read 1466 times)

finally out x.x

they needed like 5 million stem cell count for the transplant. some people have to come back a second day because they don't make enough.

my one time donation just gave them almost 120 million lol. dunno what they do with the rest.

they probably like store them for future use

Welcome back mr millionaire

How good of a match are you for your brother? Any mismatched antigens?

well he didnt have any anymore. the chemo destroyed it all.
he had a window of like 24 hours to receive the transplant before he would just be dead.

i have an incredibly healthy immune system apparently. likely because of all the refusing to use antibiotics and flu shots and the such lol.

dunno if that has too much to do with it, but your brother is super lucky to have a relative with such a healthy immune system lol.

Never took my flu shots but I took lots of anti-biotics, but not because I was sick, I had something else that needed treatment. Bisjac's immune system is laughing at mine.

Good luck man.

off/on topic but at school last year there was a blood drive and a bunch of seniors raced each other who could donate the fastest lol

well antibodies are created naturally if you let them.
flu shots force the body to create specific ones. they throw tons of junk dead viruses at you to make the immune system activate against them. but during that time you also can gain allergies to nearly any seasonal/plants/animals/food/dust you encounter during that period.

and antibiotics should only be used in life or death situations. but people take it like candy. its common knowledge that first world countries have about 20 years left before the entire population are immune to the basics like penicillin.

i dont take any meds ever. i let my body heal itself. and its no irony that im shockingly healthy.

Sorry Bisjac, I disagree with you.

Some pathogens (i.e. the ones that we used penicillin against) are resistant to the drug. Pathogens are catching up and always have been.

I'm glad it all went well for you.

Best of luck to your brother. I hope it's all a real help.

I agree that the western world is entirely over-dependent on antibiotics, and that's the sole reason we now have drug-resistant super bugs, like MRSA.
There is an absolute over-reliance on antibiotics, alongside an exceedingly poor level of education to the users of antibiotics, namely people stopping courses of antibiotics when they feel better, rather than when the course is due, allowing the slightly anti-biotic resistant bacteria to persist and reproduce, alongside people often using over-the-counter antibiotics to combat viral infections which has no affect, but causes the problem of antibiotic resistance in bacteria.

But I don't think there's anything to say that immunisations, like flu shots will cause problems with the immune system.
Flu Shots may be unnecessary for healthy young people, who could easily fight off a bout of influenza, but they're necesarry for the elderly and the very young, who are at high risk of death or damage from them.
And I most certainly wouldn't say that immunisations against diseases like Polio, Mumps, Measles and Rubella are something to avoid.
I would much rather get an allergy than suffer from one of those fatal diseases, and I would rather risk the unfounded suggestion that a child could get Autism rather than be at risk to those diseases.
Just look at the unbelievably high amount of people suddenly sick in South Wales, since an entire generation started to avoid those innoculations at birth. And the moment the disease starts to spread like wildfire, they all go in for the innoculation and throw health services asunder, as they can't cope with the sudden demand.

There's always a pinch of salt to be taken with any person of good or poor health.
I'd be proud of having a healthy immune system, but your choices don't necesarilly mean that's the reason you have it.
It's easily down to any number of factors, including genetic disposition.

It's a bit like those few who argue that smoking Tobacco isn't bad for you, because their 90 year old Nan has been smoking since she was 16, and she has never had any cancer or lung/throat diseases.
It's entirely circumstancial.
And at the same time, you get those who follow professional medical advice, have their inoculations, live a healthy lifestyle, yet still get struck down with things like cancer, or rheumatoid arthritis, or multiple sclerosis.

Once they sucked it all out did your body-wide kink go away?

yah it was like right after the 5 hours if doing it. i was instantly no longer hurting everywhere.

stem cells are gross to. you would expect the red bag hanging there like when people give blood. but it was like a half pint of clowdy yellow stuff.
