Author Topic: I need Lego buying advice.  (Read 1030 times)

Although it shames me to admit it, I played a game based off of lego without ever buying one. I want to start my collection now, but the bricks they sell in stores like toys-r-us are shockingly expensive. Therefore I have resorted to ebay. My main question is if this link HERE is a good deal. I am looking for a bunch of mixed bricks but not the one from random lego sets; i mostly just want the generic building blocks (2x4, 1x2, 1x8, wings, wedges, ramps, that sort of thing) so if anyone has a good place to buy that please post below :)

Thank you!

That looks alright to me. You should also buy a big baseplate, that'll make creative building a lot easier.

Is it for anything other than houses?

You can build anything with it. Is there a certain thing you were planning on building, for example castles or spaceships etc.?

basic bricks like those, like from the standard lego bucket sets.

cost about .061 to .065 each retail.

if you can find used ebay ones for that price its a good deal. used =/= cheaper for lego. not even close.

I've gotten more than four times that many for twenty bucks at a garage sale before. Sorry, not a good deal if you're buying bulk.

looks like a lot of plates
maybe its because theyre the biggest. and i also onli build vehicles and other moving stuff i dont like building houses. itd be good if there were some lego figures thrown in there too my lone legoman is lonely

Look at the other pictures. It's a nice-looking set with some custom parts.

I really liked the actual sets with instructions when I was little, like this:
