Author Topic: Is anybody else's Youtube videos abruptly stopping?  (Read 938 times)

I played a 17 minute video on 360p and it stopped 3 seconds after the video started. Completely. The video never says it's buffering, it just stops. I waited for 10 minutes now for the video to play and it never actually played. I tried fast-forwarding and restarting the video, but it just switches back to the 0:03 mark.

I'm getting really pissed off about Youtube. They always predict that you have a crappy computer and sets the videos down to 144p after around 20-30 seconds of the video playing if the Quality settings are set to Auto. It probably is a buffering issue, but it's a very serious one, because I can't watch jack stuff now.

But to make sure I don't sound like a stubborn ass with an old Verizon router, is anyone else having the same issue recently?

Oh yeah, this isn't just a problem for one video. I tried to play three other ones and the same result came up, and get this: most of them never actually played.

Yes. I've been constantly blaming it on my browser or connection, but now it's pretty obvious the problem lies with YouTube itself.

Tried using Google's Youtube app, but the obvious result was the video and sound quality getting butchered with no way to fix it.

go home youtube you're drunk

I keep getting a ! in a circle icon and my videos are being interrupted.

videos are not loading period for me.  almost no video on youtube works for me.  the most i can get is approximately 1 second of video out of a 16 second video, this is not an exaggeration.

idk what the forget is happening over there.  probably that loving geek week stuff they're trying to pull off.

That damn geek week, their comedy week was stupid enough, I'm sorry.

oh thank god it's not just me, I was starting to worry

Every once in a while the video will just absolutely stop, no way to get it going again unless I completely refresh and find the place I was at

ie switched from firefox to chrome, and switched youtube to the html5 version.

now it runs properly

yeah, but my videos also skip certain parts.

That happened to me when I was watching some videos, I had to refresh the page to fix it...
